Day 11 and 12 – A Hungarian Adventure: Exploring Sukoró and Budapest

Leaving behind the captivating city of Brno on the 11th day of our European journey, we set our sights on the next exciting destination: Hungary. As the day progressed, we crossed the border and arrived in Hungary in the late afternoon. Our first stop was a refreshing one – a serene lake near Sukoró, where we had the chance to cool off from the journey with a leisurely swim. The crystal-clear waters and lush surroundings were the perfect welcome to this beautiful country.
After our refreshing dip, we reached our accommodations in Sukoró, where we were greeted with warm hospitality. To deepen our understanding of Hungarian culture, we split into separate groups and had the privilege of dining with the families of our Hungarian counterparts. Sharing meals with the locals not only offered us a taste of authentic Hungarian dishes but also provided an opportunity for meaningful cultural exchange, strengthening the bonds between our groups.
The following day, we embarked on a captivating journey to the heart of Hungary: Budapest. The Hungarian capital promised a day filled with grandeur and rich history. Our first stop was the awe-inspiring Hungarian Parliament Building, where we received a guided tour. The sheer magnitude of the building’s architecture and intricate details left us in wonder.
Next, we embarked on a boat ride along the serene waters of the Danube River, allowing us to soak in the picturesque beauty of the city from a unique vantage point. The iconic bridges and historic landmarks lining the riverbanks were a testament to Budapest’s timeless charm.
With our guided tours behind us, we were given some free time to explore the city at our own pace. Budapest’s vibrant streets and charming markets beckoned us, offering a chance to shop for souvenirs and savor more Hungarian delicacies.
As the day neared its end, we couldn’t help but be grateful for the enriching experiences we had gathered in Hungary. From swimming in Sukoró to delving into the grandeur of Budapest, our Hungarian leg of the journey had been a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural immersion, leaving us excited for the adventures still to come on our European tour.
